I got my first taste in politics two years ago when I stepped out of my comfort zone to volunteer for a local campaign in the 2021 midterm elections. It was an acquired taste I admit- first rather difficult to swallow, and then gradually it became more and more enticing. I quickly moved from local volunteer to gubernatorial campaign manager, to finally seeing my own name on the ballot when I ran for State Committee. I have watched the new era of our local government unfold from the inside out, watched as the queen fell to the board, and as each individual piece slid their way across the black and white squares controlled most carefully by the somewhat overlooked individual players of the board.
The reason why it is so critical to analyze what's going on in local government right now is because our county committees are literally the makeup of what sets up the very foundation of the federal government. The elected officials at the very bottom of the line are the ones who hold the higher ups upon their backs and create a type of pyramid which forms the very being that reigns us all.
A structural engineer would look at an old foundation that is crumbling and claim that the house which sits above is not fit to be lived in any longer. The same goes for our county committees- as separation leads to more separation- and subcultures lead to more subcultures; a foundation that has been separated can not hold a structure for long.
So what happens to a foundation that can no longer hold its structure? It is either left alone, to eventually crumble away and die; or it is fixed- melded together more strongly and powerfully than before, capable of holding its structure for many more years to come; or, the final possibility, when it is simply far too gone, it may be completely abolished and replaced with a brand new, solid foundation holding an entirely different structure built above.
What happens then within our local county committees? Do the subcultures and cliques realize that, unless they set aside their difference of opinions and strengthen the foundation they have created, they can only guarantee themselves complete and utter failure?
This can not be allowed to happen. The old queen must accept her defeat and put her trust in the hands that now control the board. The foundation must be fixed and strengthened...
... or we shall forever be at fault for the collapse of its structure.
